The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and International Cooperation serve as the connecting link between the wise leadership and people of the UAE on one side and the whole World on the other side. The Ministry undertakes several responsibilities, from supervision of all Embassies representing the UAE to entering bilateral agreements and pacts with other countries.
In Addition to these responsibilities, The Ministry also handles the verification and attestation of documents issued outside the UAE and UAE-issued documents to be used abroad.
A MOFA attestation is often needed for documents such as educational certificates, marriage certificates, and other personal or commercial documents to be considered legal in the UAE. Authentication and legitimization of foreign documents is the primary purpose of MOFA attestation.
Submit your notarized documents to the MOFA for further authentication. The MOFA will verify the document and provide the necessary attestation. Some documents, particularly those related to employment or visa applications, may need further attestation at the embassy or consulate of your home country in the UAE.
MOFA attestation is often needed for documents such as educational certificates, marriage certificates, and other personal or professional documents to make them legally valid for use in the UAE or for other purposes.
The Consular Services Department in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) provides Attestation Services for all types of documents (commercial documents/ Study Certificates/ and other documents) as a measure to ratify the validity of stamps and signatures on documents issued within or out of the UAE.
In case the UAE has no embassy in the concerned Country, documents are to be approved by the concerned Country’s Embassy in the UAE. If the concerned Country has no Embassy in the UAE, documents are to be notarized by the Country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs accredited to the UAE.
To get your documents attested you can visit the Ministry yourself or delegate the work to a reliable and reputable company that will complete the attestations for you at a nominal price. Prompt Attestation Services is located near the diplomatic area close to many embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dubai which reinforces the timely service we promise.
The MOFA charge for an individual certificate in the UAE is AED 153 and for commercial documents charges are AED 2048. In addition, courier service fees will be added.
For most documents, the standard attestation process may take around 2 to 3 working days. If you require faster processing, some services offer an express or urgent attestation option, which can reduce the processing time to 1 working day. Please note that express services may come with higher fees.
